June 14, 2012 (KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – Several United Country Auction Services auctioneers supported
the Ducks Unlimited 75th National Convention in Nashville May 30 through June 3. The auctioneers
raised over $300,000 during various events to support the organization this year, breaking
all-time records for previous years.

“By all accounts DU’s 75th convention was one of the most important gatherings in the history of our organization, with our Saturday night auction being the capstone of our fundraising efforts that weekend,” said David W. Schuessler, national director of grassroots fundraising for Ducks Unlimited.
“It was only natural that we partner with United Country for this historic sale. This was my third year working with Mike, Shawn and the UC team and it just gets better, and more fun, each year.”

The auctions took place during the Family Reunion event on Wednesday, the Ladies Luncheon on Friday and Saturday Night Gala. The United Country auctioneers raised approximately $40,600, $25,650 and $245,500 respectively to support Ducks Unlimited’s mission.

Not only were the bids record-setting, but attendance for the auction events were also impressive.
The Wednesday night opening event auction attracted about 1,100 people, the Friday lunch auction event had roughly 450 attendees and the Saturday night Gala event included around 1,450 bidders.

“The 75th Anniversary Ducks Unlimited Convention in Nashville was a huge success, breaking records for both live auction sales and overall attendance,” said Mike Jones, president of United Country Auction Services. “United Country is extremely proud of our partnership with Ducks Unlimited and to have contributed to their mission. We are already gearing up for next year and looking forward to
being in Portland in 2013.”

Other participating auctioneers for this year’s events were Shawn Terrel, vice president of United
Country Auction Services; Myers Jackson, national director of development for United Country Auction Services; Jim Graves, broker/owner of United Country – Middle Tennessee Realty & Auction, LLC, of Hohenwald, Tenn.; and Mike and Cynthia Walker of United Country – Walker Real Estate & Auction of Lebanon, Tenn.; as well as David Chelf, broker and Chris Gravil, auctioneer – both with United
Country – Heartland Realty & Auction, LLC, of Bowling Green, Ky.

“An exciting highlight at this year’s gala auction was when we sold ‘Mission Accomplished,’ an original oil painting by David Maass that was purchased by Peter Coors, CEO of Molson Coors Brewing Company
for $25,000,” said Jones.

Other highlights of the auction included an autographed guitar donated by Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, a 2012 Yamaha 4X4 Grizzy four-wheeler, a New Mexico trophy elk hunt, a Chile rainbow
and brown trout fly fishing trip for Four, an Argentina Dove Hunt for Four, a Ducks Unlimited 75th Anniversary War Eagle Boat, an Iceland goose hunt, a Jack Daniels barrel of whiskey, a Chesapeake
Bay duck hunt with decoy collection, “Great Beginnings:” an original acrylic painting by Jim Killen,
a Theodore Roosevelt Winchester Model 1876 rifle and a Ducks Unlimited Anniversary
Dinner Gun Collection.
