In Memoriam

James "Jim" Stocker passed away peacefully on January 23, 2018.

Jim was 84 years old, born on Christmas Day in 1933. Jim is survived by his wife Donna Stocker of Wickenburg, Arizona and sisters Martha Collins and Mary Bryant of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.

Jim was a Korean War veteran who proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force Air Patrol Police from 1951 to 1955. Upon completion of his service, he became a master mason and started a home construction company, which he operated for many years in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Jim relocated to Arizona in the late 1980's where he began his lifelong interest in cattle ranching. He ran his "Lazy J" cattle on several ranches west of Phoenix, most recently on the Hassayampa River Ranch in Yavapai County. Jim lived with his wife Donna in Wickenburg, and worked on the ranch every day caring for his cattle.

Jim and Donna held legendary week-long cattle roundups annually for more than 20 years, with great people, food and entertainment. Jim enjoyed spending time in Rocky Point, Mexico with his wife, at their properties in Las Palomas Beach & Golf Resort.

Jim was a loving husband and friend to many. He will be missed, and his legacy will live on through the telling of stories by those who love him.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 3:00PM at the First Presbyterian Church at 180 N. Adams St. in Wickenburg.
