The sellers were honored to be able to buy the property from Mr. Erickson in 2012. After leaving Kansas he moved to Colorado where he operated his Ghost Town Art Gallery. Mr. Erickson now lives in Texas and regularly performs as a steel guitarist with the award winning Coby Carter and 5 Miles West Band. The sellers enjoy showing the features of the home to those that wish to make contact with them in advance.
The home includes 2 master bedrooms located at opposite ends of the home for privacy. The east master bedroom includes 1 queen sized bed and 2 single beds. There is also a desk for writing. Next to the east bedroom is a laundry room with new stackable washer, dryer, shower and toilet. The ¾ bath works well for guests at that end of the home.
The west master bedroom features a queen sized Aspen log 4 post bed, love seat and desk for writing. Opening from the west bedroom and hallway is a full 4 piece bathroom.
The private middle bedroom features 1 queen sized lower bed and 1 single bunk bed on the upper level.
The home includes a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, stove with oven, newer dishwasher, new disposal, microwave oven and other appliances.
The dining room includes a custom built cedar dining table and cow hide upholstered chairs, all made by artisan Victor Erickson.
The living room includes western décor, leather couch, wood stove and television with a wide selection of videos.
There is a private deck area to the rear of the home with more custom built log furniture and a gas grill for cooking out.
There is covered parking in the carport area for 2 vehicles and extra seating for those that wish to enjoy outdoor conversations.
A 20’ by 30’ metal shop building with concrete floor and electrical service is available for storage of motorcycles, ATVs or other valuable equipment. It has walk-in doors on the east and north sides and sliding doors on the west and south sides for easy access.
This property has been used since April 2012 as a vacation rental for hunters, sportsmen, outdoor enthusiasts, photographers and many others that come to the beautiful Red Hills area of Southwest Kansas for family reunions, weddings or vacations. Guests have included professional basketball players, country bands and other performers.
The property has been posted on Vacation Rentals By Owner (VRBO) https://www.vrbo.com/509326 and the site can be transferred to buyers that want to continue to use the property as a vacation rental. Also available are the customer lists and other valuable information. The property has regularly rented for $100 per night with a 2 night minimum and $100 cleaning fee. No reservations are being taken at this time, in case the buyer of the property does not want to offer it as a vacation rental in the future.
There is much to see and do in the Gyp Hills area of Kansas. Bring your camera to capture the beauty of this remarkable area of the Sunflower State.
