RANCH OPERATION

The Best Ranch, owned by Hi-Lo Company, Inc., has everything necessary to operate from day one as a fully-functional cow-calf or stocker/feeder cattle operation. The stockman will find great fencing, cross-fenced pastures, traps, working pens and loading chutes. All pastures have ample water sources and forage.

Native grasses include buffalo grass, sideoats gramma, blue gramma and Texas wintergrass; as well as numerous other weeds and forbs. The predominant tree cover is mesquite, with hackberry and elm being found along the creeks and bottoms.

HUNTING

The Rolling Plains is one of the few areas left in the United States that still holds a stable wild bobwhite quail population. The Best Ranch is one of the few ranches in the Rolling Plains area that consistently produces outstanding wild bobwhite quail habitat.

The Rolling Plains eco-system includes dense scrub oak thickets, river bottoms, rugged canyons, crop fields and food plots. The new owner will have exclusive access to several thousands of acres of trophy buck country. The typical buck harvested in this area ranges in the 130-160 range with atypical individuals measuring in the high 180s. The rut normally runs from mid-November through mid-December. Mature bucks can weigh well over 200 pounds.

Whitetail deer, mule deer, turkeys, feral hogs, quail, dove and ducks provide a wide variety of hunting opportunities.
